Mezzo-soprano Tuuri Dede, who´s been called a “rare talent in Estonian concert life” (Sirp, Mirje Mändla) has been praised for her ability to “open out to fullest tones in a leap from low register to high” (The Arts Desk, David Nice). Her rich timbre has been described as “the birthright of a true Carmen” (Bachtrack, Peter Quantrill) and “unfathomably lush“ (Teater.Muusika.Kino, Tiiu Levald). She is an alumni of Equilibrium Young Artists, mentorship program founded by world famous soprano/conductor Barbara Hannigan. Dede has been a soloist with more than 20 orchestras, including The Munich Philharmonics, The Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and worked with over 30 conductors, namely Neeme Järvi, Barbara Hannigan, Audrey Saint-Gil, Arvo Volmer, Olari Elts, Risto Joost etc. Dede has performed over 30 vocal masterpieces in all over Europe and sung roles in different operas from baroque to contemporary. Her competition history consists of prizes from first to fourth in Estonia and Scandinavia. She has studied in Estonia, Finland and Italy and is currently continuing privately with Monika Hauswalter.
